What led us to define AI shopping experience for Very Small Business?
VSBs need more contextual and guided AI support to build trust and confidently navigate their purchase journey.
While the current AI strategy effectively aids purchase decisions, Very Small Businesses (VSBs) require deeper contextual guidance that acknowledges their business size and decision context. Without explainable reasoning and structured, supportive flows, we risk losing high-intent users early and weakening trust in AI as a support partner for business purchases
Challenges and Solutions
Provide personalized guidance without overwhelming
Because VSBs face a wide range of product options and complex bundle choices, we came up with core priorities on focus areas including business size, prior activity, and needs, presenting them with clear explanations and structured visuals to prevent cognitive overload. An AI opportunity was identified based on pain points for Very Small Business (VSBs), and these insights were shared with leadership to get alignment
Build trust while streamlining decision-making
Because early trust is critical for VSBs adopting AI-assisted shopping, I presented an example structure of what it means to provide reasoning, focusing on the VSB core user, with the leadership team.
